Individual Blessings

During Amma’s time in each citiy, a day has been
set aside for Individual Blessings. All Individual Blessing Programs are free and open to all. This is a very special opportunity for everyone to speak one-on-one with
Amma and convey any specific questions or blessing requests to her. Please see the guidelines, below.

Amma begins the Individual Blessing programs with a very sacred and rare ritual, called an Abhishekam, in which pure milk is poured over a sphatik crystal Sri Chakra. This ritual is accompanied by the chanting in Sanskrit of the Sri Suktam, an ancient prayer from the Rig Veda, which invokes the cosmic energy of the Divine Mother, Lakshmi. In Hindusim, Lakshmi is the goddess of prosperity, and the protector of the household. In the esoteric traditions, Lakshmi represents the fundamental creative energy from which the universe and all beings are formed..

Individual Blessings are a chance for families to come before Amma to recive her gift of profound love and spiritual energy. Amma considers the entirity of creation as her own family, and all beings as her very own children. This divine motherly love inspires Amma to give of herself one-on-one, and to tune in directly to the specific needs and requests her children bring her.

One-on-one with Amma, a special timeless moment unfolds, filled with spiritual grace. Pictured below, Amma is holding in her hands a card with each individual's written requests and concerns, which she reads and responds to. Some people seek her words of wisdom, and some come to her to receive her delicate spiritual touch, which awakens the chakras and the higher mind, and opens the heart wide to the path of unconditional love.


Spiritual blessings from Amma

For many people the Individual Blessing is an encounter with the Divine in the form of a human being -a saint, a teacher, a guru, a loving mother. Great peace and inner silence comes easily the presence of our beloved Amma.


Amma gives her profound spiritual energies

Amma often hands blessed objects charged with spiritual energy to her children, and these sacred items may be used in one's personal meditation. Amma also enjoys the presence of babies, and the opportunity to share in motherly affection.

Amma gives each person a very sacred mantra, known as the Healing Mantra, which can be used to heal physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. This, in addition to her undivided attention, flowing with compassionate energy, is a great blessing.



General Guidelines for Individual Blessing

We kindly request that you wear white when attending the Individual Blessing Program. This is very beneficial for maintaining a pure and positive atmosphere. White is a unique color which repels all negative vibrations and attracts only positive vibrations.

Individual blessings will be received on a first-come, first-served basis. As you enter the hall, you will be given a Blessing Request card along with guidelines on how to approach  Amma. A brief orientation will be given to answer any questions. Please be aware that due to the large number of people who come for blessings, you may need to wait several hours for your blessing. We hope you will enjoy this rare opportunity to sit peacefully in Amma’s presence and absorb the healing vibrations of her divine energy.

Due to time constraints, each person may have only one individual blessing per Tour. If you see Amma in more than one city this year, please do not request a second individual blessing, although you are welcome to sit in the hall during the program. Thank you for your kind understanding.

During All Programs, We Kindly Request That You...

  • Please wear clean, modest attire that covers the knees and shoulders.
  • Please observe silence while in Amma’s presence.
  • Please turn all beepers and cell phones off or to blink/vibrate mode so that others are not disturbed.
  • Please do not take photos without special permission beforehand. Video and audio-taping are not permitted.
