Information on Homa Sponsorship

Private Residence

16 Cross Road

Cortlandt Manor, NY 10567

The Homa will be held at a private home 50 miles due north of Manhattan.

Please plan on coming at or close to 8 a.m. The actual ceremony will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. or later but we need to be settled down and quiet when it starts. A light lunch will be served afterwards. Please come prepared to sit outdoors for an extended period of time. Be sure to protect yourself from the hot sun as well as insects. Bring hats, blankets, water bottles, insect repellents, sun screens, etc. Those coming by car may wish to bring their own chairs or extra chairs to share with others. A limited number of chairs are provided. Please give priority to seniors and people with health issues.

THERE WILL BE THREE HAVAN KUNDAS/FIRE PITS. Amma will perform the Homa herself in the main havan kunda.
Sponsors who donate $1008 or more may perform the homa with Amma at one of the adjacent pits. All donations will go towards much needed heart surgeries for the needy.

DIRECTIONS TO THE HOMA

BY TRAIN: FROM QUEENS: You will have to take the subway to Grand Central Station in Manhattan.

FROM MANHATTAN: From Grand Central Station, take the Metro North Hudson Line train to Croton Harmon. The Hudson Line runs east of the Hudson river.

We will meet only one train - the 7.11 AM Express train out of Grand Central which gets into Croton Harmon
at 8:00 a.m.

A one-way peak fare is $10.69 if bought on the web, and $11.25 if bought at the station.

In case we do not have enough volunteers to pick up people, or you choose to take an earlier train, taxis are available and can be shared. The price is around $24.00. Taxis from Peekskill station are cheaper ($10) but fewer trains go to Peekskill and the fares are slightly more expensive. For information on train fares and times, click on: http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm

BY CAR: Parking is Limited, so please car pool or take the Metro North Hudson Line to Croton-Harmon Station or Peekskill Station. Please only park on the side of the street where the houses have even numbers and do not block hydrants or driveways. Emergency vehicles have to be able to pass through easily at any time. Please be diligent about this. We want a peaceful homa without visits from the NY State and County Police! Those who can walk should park further away from the homa site to give those who are old or infirm a chance to park closer. Thank you for your cooperation!
