Peace
is the greatest of human values, yet the most |
|
| Being a witness for peace is a type of spiritual activism that remains apolitical, and is centered in prayer and meditation. The vision of the Vedas and of yoga is equanimity. Therefore a spiritual solution is preferred to direct political action. This indirect approach nurtures the spirit, refrains from blame, is centered in non-violence, and relies upon Spirit to effect transformation on the subtle levels of consciousness, at the source of human life. |

| In Albuquerque and Los Angeles, pictured above, Amma leads devoteees in the "Shanti Yatra," or Peace Walk. This ancient tradition crosses many cultures, and brings people together as silent witnesses to the peace within themselves. |

| During Amma's programs, doves are often released with great heartfelt celebration. Emancipation is more than just a word, it is a feeling central to the Human spirit, which rejoices not only in its own liberation, but the freedom of others as well. Giving peace to all is the practical aspect of Amma Sri Karunamayi's inclusive spiritual vision. |

|
| In India, and in cities across the US, Amma Sri Karunamayi holds group meditations for world peace. These meditations bring the experience of peace, and its resultant liberating energy. At the core of meditation and prayer is intention, and holding a vision for world peace free from dobut and cynicism. Upon that intention, meditative and energetic practices concentrate spiritual and cosmic energy used to manifest greater peace upon the planet. |
