Jai Karunamayi!

Recently we reached half of our goal for Amma's Karuna Gruham, also known as the Jubilee Housing Project. While sponsoring homes for 250 families is an incredible accomplishment, the remaining families still need our help.

At this point, Amma has asked that we redouble our efforts to supply the remaining tribal families with homes. The message Amma has asked SMVA Trust to share with devotees worldwide is that griha daana, giving the charity of a house, is one of the most highly meritorious acts of compassion.

She recognizes that it is hard to perform griha daana, and that is why the Vedas say, “Whomever performs griha daana is performing a rare and special Maha Yagna.”
 
It has also been said that donating a house protects the donor in this life and many lives to come. Exuberant grace is bestowed by God when our hearts are opened for those in need of a home.

Amma said that for any type of daana there is punya (merit). And that while many people participate in annadaana (giving food), vidyadaana (giving an education), and arogya daana (giving health)… griha daana is the greatest gift.

Amma says that all her beloved children are invited to chant the Samputita Sri Suktam, and contribute to this noble cause. Together we can reach the goal of providing 500 families with homes.
