The sacred art of Indian Classical Dance was
perfomed as a holy offering at the Guru Purnima program.

Amma gives her blessings to this dancer, conferring upon her
all success as an artist. To each dancer Amma's darshan and
blessings will remain a source of inspiration that will
live on in their performances in a current of divine grace.

Amma's knowledge and appreciation of sacred Indian dance
was evident as she sang along during the dances, relishing
their meaning through her spiritual vision and wisdom.

Dancers display the sacred story of Sri Mahishasura Mardini.
Above, the standing dancer portrays Sri Durga Devi, the
Warrior Goddess, slaying with her trident, the asura, Mahisha.

Jai Sri Durga! Victory to the Goddess!

The dancer portrays Sri Durga's sublime spiritual beauty.
Here, the triumph of spirituality over negativity is depicted.

The dancers from the acclaimed Anjali Center in Houston,
directed by Rathna Kumar, assemble on stage to greet Amma.

Performances were by Urmila Gadgil, Purvaja Ganesan,
Geethanjali Vipulanandan, Yarlini Vipulanandan,
Sneha Raju, Sinthuja Devarajan, Meera Devarajan,
Renuka Rege, Rohini Rege and Venugopal Josyula.

Esteemed dance guru, Rathna Kumar, stands with her students
to receive Amma Sri Karunamayi.

The overflowing of Amma's love touches each dancer's heart.
