The Hindu Temple of Atlanta has requested Amma to perform the Mahakumbhabhishekam (sacred consecration) of the new Shiva Temple, in Atlanta, GA.
This temple is very dear to Amma, and there will be thousands of people witenssing this event.
The Mahakhumbhabhishekam is the process of empowering the newly constructed temple through sacred rituals. The mahakhumbhabhishekam is the peak ceremony of many days of preparatory ceremonies as prescribed by the scriptures.
The mahakumbhabhishekam itself is performed on the last day, at an exact auspicious time (muhurta) chosen by experts in Vedic Astrology (Jyotish).
It is considered to be a great boon to witness the consecration of a temple in one's lifetime, ensuring all one's desires are fulfilled.
SMVA Trust and the Hindu Temple of Atlanta invite all devotees to attend this auspicious festival, in which Amma will officiate, give spiritual discourses, divne darshan, and perform the consecration of the new Shiva Temple.
Schedule: March 22-23, 2009. The exact time for the Mahakumbhabhishekam itself is 7:30AM on the 23rd. Please come early as there will be thousands of people at this event.
