Sravana Purnima Sri Chandi Homa
In Amma's Penusila Ashram, special homas are performed each and every day for viswashanti - universal peace.
On the most auspicious full moon day, the intensely powerful Sri Chandi Homa is performed, for the eradication of negativity in the Earth's atmosphere.
Amma's ashram is nestled against the sacred Garudadri Hills. The pure and natural setting of the ashram adds to the divine power of the homas.
The kalasas, representing Sri Lakshmi and Sri Chandi, have been beautifully decorated with pink roses and red hibiscus flowers.
Before the homa begins, the priest recites the sankalpa, a set of powerful mantras that channel the blessings of the homa to the homa sponsors.
At the peak moment of the homa, final offerings of ghee are made into the fire, which is considered to be the mouth of God.
Our beloved Amma offers pink lotuses to Divine Mother for the
happiness of all beings.
