A Beautiful Herald of Things to Come
Many of you may remember the sweet and captivating photographs of the Mother's Day Homa in Atlanta last year, when a beautiful monarch butterfly alighted on Amma's forehead and simply refused to leave her. The story continued as the butterfly stayed with Amma, and kept disappearing and reappearing, sometimes in the car with Amma, and sometimes on Amma's personal puja shrine! Finally, that fortunate butterfly passed on from this Earth while resting on Amma's personal Sri Chakra which she worships every day.

Now, it seems that the butterfly was a poetic herald for the events that have begun to unfold near the city of Atlanta. Just as a butterfly miraculously emerges from its cocoon and spreads its wings in glorious flight, a new ashram is taking shape in a wonderful way, thanks to the devoted efforts of the Atlanta devotees.
A New Meditation Center is Born
Last summer, a piece of property was shown to Amma as a potential site for an ashram. Amma immediately approved the land and requested that construction begin soon, so that she could have a permanent home in the US, as a base for expanding her mission of peace, love and spiritual upliftment. Several buildings already exist on the property, and one of them is currently being remodeled into a home for Amma. In addition, a program hall is now being built. The ashram has been named the SRIM Meditation Center; "SRIM" stands for "Sri Karunamayi Research Institute of Meditation."

The ashram property is about sixty miles south of Atlanta, and consists of many acres of beautiful and tranquil land. All buildings will be constructed according to the principles of Vastu, the ancient Vedic science of aligning buildings with natural forces. By honoring the principles of Vastu, the ashram will exist in harmony with Mother Earth, and all who enter the ashram will be nurtured by positive and harmonious energetic vibrations.
Plans for the Center are Taking Shape
Once Amma's quarters are completed, we will have a permanent home for Amma, where she will be free to stay for longer periods of time. Once the program hall is completed, we will have a place to conduct special programs, like spiritual classes, extended meditation retreats, and more. As the new center takes shape, Amma will be revealing more details of her vision for the ashram.

One of the most exciting plans includes the construction of a Devi temple which will house a powerful and divinely auspicious Sri Chakra Meru. The Sri Chakra is the most powerful representation of Divine Mother, as well as the entire cosmos, and it contains the complete energy of Sri Lalita Devi. Thus, the ashram will become a focal point for Divine Mother's energy, and will radiate tremendous vibrations of peace, love and healing to the US as well as the entire world. It now seems even more significant that the monarch butterfly mentioned above chose to complete its life while resting on Amma's Sri Chakra, as if the little butterfly was sending a message about the Sri Chakra that would be installed in the temple.

Amma's Atlanta Satsang is pleased and honored to invite all of Amma's most beloved children to the inauguration of Amma's first US ashram. The Inauguration Program will be held on May 8th at 7 PM. In Amma's vision, the SRIM Center will play an important role in bringing about true spiritual development and evolution for all of us.
