Cincinnai proclamation for Amma Sri Karunamayi for her humanitarian activity and compassion

The Mayor of Cincinnati declared June 9, 2007 as "Sri Karunamayi Day"

Amma is warmly welcomed to Cincinnati

Young children sprinkle Amma's path with tender flower petals.

A devotee stands ready with lit harati tray, waiting to offer it to Amma.

It is traditional to offer harati to holy people or other
important people when they arrive.

One of the priests of the temple welcomes Amma.

The city proclamation pictured above is presented to Amma.

We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to be in the presence
of mahatmas - the great souls.

Amma teaches everyone to chant the powerful Sri Ganesha
Ekakshara Mantra: "Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha."

Amma shares her words of hope and inspiration with everyone.

Amma initiates a fortunate student with Sri Saraswati Mantra; a tulasi twig is dipped in honey and used to write the mantra on the student's tongue.

The tulasi twig signifies purity, and the honey signifies sweetness; thus, after receiving Sri Saraswati Mantra, we should speak only truths in a sweet way.

Everyone comes forward for Amma's divine blessings.

Om Shantih Shantih Shantihi

May All Be Peaceful

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

May All Be Happy
