Sacred Chakra Cleansing Technique to be Offered
During 2007 Guru Purnima Retreat

In response to the heartfelt prayers and requests of many devotees, our beloved Amma has decided to teach a specific practice for cleansing the chakras during the 2007 Guru Purnima Retreat in Los Angeles. Previously, this technique was only taught during the India Retreats in Amma's Penusila Ashram. This is the first time Amma will be teaching this technique outside of the Penusila Ashram, and it represents a rare opportunity to receive this crest jewel of sacred wisdom directly from Amma.
According to India's ancient yogic tradition, the human body contains spiritual energy centers, known as "chakras." The seven main chakras lie along the sushumna nadi like beautiful lotus flowers strung in a garland. Although the chakras are naturally radiant and vibrant with divine energy, their beauty is veiled by our karma, which is like a thick layer of dust.
In the intimate retreat setting, Amma shares the most
precious and sacred teachings of Sri Vidya.
The accumulation of this blanket of dust over innumerable lifetimes creates barriers to the upward movement of the divine kundalini energy and prevents us from realizing our full spiritual potential. This karmic dust also acts on the chakras to create disease and commotion in our lives as the fulfillment of our negative karma.
To allow us all to unveil our full spiritual potential and achieve higher levels of evolution, our beloved Amma will teach a specific chakra cleansing technique that focuses on cleansing and purifying the muladhara chakra. This chakra, which lies at the base of the spine, is the entryway to true spirituality. Once this chakra is purified, it is free to vibrate at its natural rate of vibration, which allows the divine kundalini energy to awaken in a very peaceful and natural way. In the sacred tradition of Sri Vidya, spiritual growth happens in a very holistic, gentle way, like a rose unfolding its petals one by one.
Practicing the technique for clearing this chakra forms the foundation for learning further techniques that will unlock the potential of all the other chakras. Only when all the chakras have been fully purified can we achieve true enlightenment. During the retreat, our beloved Amma will also grace everyone with nectarean wisdom from the sacred Sri Vidya tradition regarding the nature and significance of the chakras.

This year, the chakra cleansing technique will only be taught during the 2007 Guru Purnima Retreat. In honor of this special opportunity, the deadline for registering at the rate of $315 has been extended until July 8, instead of July 1. After July 8, the registration fee will increase to $351.
