2007 India Tour - Anantapur Public Programs
Feb 21-26, 2007

After preparing a flower-strewn path for Amma, the devotees wait eagerly
with their specially decorated kalasas

Our beloved Amma arrives at the evening program.

After a hiatus of seven years, the Anantapur devotees are overjoyed
to have Amma in their town once again.

Ladies offer a traditional dance in honor of Amma's arrival.

Thousands have come for the chance to receive Amma's blessings.

Amma watches as five young girls offer a beautiful performance
of classical Indian dance.

Classical Indian dance, or Bharata Natyam, requires strength, agility,
flexibility, gracefulness, and true devotion.

In the course of their performance, the girls demonstrated numerous aspects
of Divine Mother's nature, including Lakshmi Devi, Saraswati Devi,
Parvati Devi, and Kalika Devi.

Amma was so pleased with the girls' performance that as each dancer
offered her a garland, she immediately removed it and placed it
on the dancer's neck.

Everyone is eager to receive Amma's divine touch.

During the meditation programs held each morning, devotees were instructed
in the process of meditation, a practice which purifies the mind, enhances health
and spiritual radiance, and gives us inner peace.

Several organizers and volunteers wait for Amma at the beautifully
decorated entrance to the program.

Amma gives her blessings as she enters the hall.

Vedic priests chant sacred hymns in honor of Amma's arrival.

It is impossible to describe the happiness we feel when we see
Amma's smiling lotus face.

Amma blesses a tiny, cute book about Sri Lalita Parameswari.

During the morning meditation program, everyone gets the chance
to experience the peace and joy of meditation.

Everyone approaches Amma affectionately, feeling as if they are
with their own near and dear mother.

Hundreds get the chance to worship Sri Lalita Devi
in Amma's divine presence.

As Amma arrives for the evening program, ladies wait
with trays of auspicious items.

Our beloved Amma, with garlands of roses, jasmine, and lemons.

"Meditation prepares the mind for the descent of divine light." ~ Amma

As instructed, everyone performs chin mudra, a hand gesture which
increases one's spiritual energy during meditation.

Amma gives her divine discourse to the devotees.

No words can describe the divine energy we feel when
Amma
places her hand on the crown chakra.
