Announcing "Amma Magazine" ~
The New Western Edition of Purna Prajna

Jai Karunamayi!
SMVA is pleased to announce the release of Amma Magazine, the new Western edition of Purna Prajna. In the hopes of better serving
Amma’s Western devotees, we’ve created a
new look and format for the Western edition
of Amma’s quarterly spiritual magazine.
Amma’s magazine will now be printed in full color in a larger format, so that we can bring you beautiful pictures of Amma’s latest activities in each issue.
You’ll still find Amma’s
messages, devotees’ experiences, and
current news about Amma, but we’ll also be
featuring more in-depth articles on Amma’s teachings,
how to practice on auspicious days, holy scriptures, Vastu, better health through Vedic
knowledge, sacred recipes, and much more. See below for excerpts from some of this issue's articles.
Subscription Details
All former Purna Prajna subscribers who
live outside of India will now receive Amma
Magazine starting with the summer issue, and those living in India will
continue to receive Purna Prajna. Due to the
added expense of printing a larger magazine
in color, the cost for new yearly subscriptions to
Amma Magazine will be
$20. Subscriptions are available online at The Amma Store.

Articles on auspicious days will give tips on how to absorb the
special energies available on those days.
From Amma's Message...
"Children, Amma expects your
eternal happiness. Be happy, and then share your joy
with the entire world. Share your divine peace and love
with everyone in the world. Serve this world with a kind
heart—that is Amma’s wish."
From an Article on Sri Lalita Sahasranama...
"With billions of divine beings gathered for the occasion,
Sri Lalita Devi emanated the eight Vagdevatas
from her own being, four from her left side and four
from her right side. These Vagdevatas were unique
goddesses of speech created for a specific divine purpose.
Smiling sweetly and speaking only through the
tender side glances of her beautiful and radiant eyes,
Sri Lalita Devi silently commanded the Vagdevatas to
create a stotram that would draw supreme blessings to
whoever might chant it. Understanding Sri Mata’s wish,
which had sprung from the very heart of compassion,
the Vagdevatas closed their eyes. Meditating on Sri
Mata in their hearts, they immediately began to chant
Sri Lalita Sahasranama Stotram in an unbroken stream
of sound, energy, and devotion, all in one voice."
From an Article on How to Prepare Sweet Pongal...
"Considered an ayurvedic food, jaggery is believed to
purify the blood and strengthen the lungs. Aside from
its purity and nutritional content, jaggery also attracts
the beneficial energy of the planet Jupiter, so it is a very
auspicious item to offer to God. Plain jaggery can be
offered by itself to Sri Ganesha or Divine Mother."
From an Article on the Significance of the Pancha Puja...
"Whenever we recite the pancha puja, we show our gratitude
to Mother Nature by making offerings to the five elements.
By repeating the bijaksharas associated with the first five
chakras, we enliven and energize these important energy
centers. In the process, we give balance and healing to
Mother Nature and also ourselves as we acknowledge our
connection with Nature as well as Sri Lalita’s presence in
the five elements that make up all of existence."
From an Article on the Power of Silence
"In the Rig Veda, India’s ancient sages ask us to imagine
the beautiful image of a mother nursing her newborn.
The baby, knowing no words, looks into her mother’s
eyes with overwhelming love. Mom beams with joy, as
both are embraced in the warmth of the heart.
Not a word has been said, yet volumes were spoken,
and understood. In silence. In meditation, when our minds are as calm as a
midnight lake, God communicates with us in the same
manner. We are heard, and we hear. Yet, not a word is
spoken. A higher language is at work."
