Navaratri Celebrations at Penusila Kshetram
Sep 27, 2006
The beautiful and sacred Garudachala hills form the backdrop for Amma’s Penusila Ashram; merely having darshan of these hills is a great purification
Darshan of Sri Maha Lakshmi, Sri Maha Saraswati, and Sri Lalita Parameswari on Lalita Panchami, a very auspicious day during Navaratri
As the very special Laksha Modaka Sri Ganesha Homa was performed today, puja was offered to this very small, adorable golden form of Sri Ganesha

At the feet of Sri Ganesha, one can see the silver lotuses that were offered during the morning puja
During the Laksha Modaka Homa, 100,000 modakas were offered to Sri Ganesha; it took four full days to prepare all the modakas, and twenty priests chanted together in order to complete the homa within five hours
The beautifully decorated purnahuti, showing Sri Ganesha on the coconut
At the end of the homa, Amma does pradakshina around the homa fire; walking clockwise around any sacred object is a powerful blessing
Amma sprinkles everyone with kalasa water that has been highly energized by the 100,000 chantings of the powerful mantra “Om gam ganapataye namaha”
“Sri Ganesha is the all-pervasive Divine Consciousness; he is nothing but Sakti Trayatmika – all three Divine Mothers are within Him” ~Amma
Amma distributes blessed modakas to everyone – “The powerful ‘gam’ bijakshara contains everything within it; it is the source of Creation” ~Amma

Some of the priests have drawn a beautiful image of Sri Ganesha using nothing but colored powder and their hands
As today’s main homa was dedicated to Sri Ganesha, tonight’s procession was dedicated to Sri Parvati Devi, who is shown here holding Her beloved son Sri Ganesha on Her knee

Divine Mother is praised as “Dina Daya Paripurna Katakshini” – Her sidelong glance is overflowing with divine grace for all the people, especially those in dire straits

During the auspicious Navaratri festival,
may the whole world be drenched in the nectarean love of
our beloved Mother Sri Lalitambika Devi
