Diwali Celebrations at the Bangalore Ashram
Oct 21, 2006

An image of Sri Maha Lakshmi has been beautifully decorated with
flower garlands, and Mother Lakshmi's divine energy has been invoked
in a sacred kalasam in front of the image

Flowers are offered to Mother Lakshmi as Her all-purifying names are recited

Mother Lakshmi graces Her children with absolute inner purity, divine light,
auspicious virtues, and an abundance of inner beauty

On Diwali, Mother Lakshmi enters the homes of Her devotees; some
have been lucky enough to hear Her golden anklets jingling as She
comes running to visit with Her beloved children

Sri Lakshmi Devi is embodied by the divine sound "Srim" (pronounced as "sreem"), which signifies the most brilliant and auspicious divine light; it is very, very auspicious to offer Her ghee lights, such as the ones shown above on the numerous arati plates

Our beloved Amma is constantly showering us with Her purifying grace
and tender motherly love; in return Swamiji showers Amma with
sweet and fragrant jasmine blossoms, on all our behalf

Darshan of the gold Sri Yantra, Mother Lakshmi, and our beloved Amma all together

Children light sparklers in front of Amma as part of the Diwali festivities;
Amma has said that Diwali is a time for families to set aside the day-to-day
worries and concerns, and to simply have fun together

To the delight of all the devotees, our beloved Amma joins
in the fun with some sparklers of her own
Om shantih shantih shantihi
May all be in peace
Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu
May all be happy
