The Divine Wisdom of Equal Vision

Billions and billions and billions of times, Amma sends her love to you, babies! I am so happy to be in this holy church, with such beautiful and great spiritual vibrations. Once again Amma is with her children for a spiritual evening. I feel so happy, so fortunate to be with you.

Children, you have so many capabilities in your lives…divine love, kindness, compassion, service, good education…so many capabilities. Why are these capabilities diminished? If you merge in the universal Self, and elevate spiritually, you will feel that you are everywhere and one with everything. This is the highest peak of spirituality. When the individual self merges with the universal Self, there is oneness with God. Innumerable ages ago, all of the Vedic books on spirituality contained the teaching that God is only one. There are innumerable paths, but there is only one destination. Just now we chanted one mantra, "Lokah samastah sukhino bhavantu," which means, "Let the entire universe be always in peace, prosperity, health and wealth." This is a beautiful, universal prayer from the Vedic time ages and ages and ages ago. The pure souls living in any age pray for the welfare and peace of the entire universe.

In this twentieth century, some people ask, "Why should we do meditation? Why do we need spirituality?" Children, we need spirituality and devotion. There is a beautiful garden in our inner lives, where a great tree resides-the tree of divine love. So many beautiful flowers bloom on this tree of divine love. These flowers are compassion, kindness, the ability to love everyone more than ourselves, selfless service, and never expecting anything, even thanks, from anyone. Equal vision is another beautiful flower in this inner garden. The word for "equal vision" in Sanskrit is "sama drishti." Equal vision is the greatest righteousness, but equal vision is only possible when we attain divine wisdom. Divine wisdom is a great spiritual attribute. All of these are divine attributes, tranquility, peace, kindness, pure devotion, and never expecting anything from others, always giving, giving, giving, giving, and never taking anything from others. Mother Nature gives so much to you, sunlight, water, vital energy, so many things. If anyone loves Mother Nature, that person will become wise. We never give anything to Mother Nature in return. Instead, we actually spoil Nature in so many ways. We cut trees, pollute rivers, and pollute the Earth.

Children, you are the giver. So much love is inside; it is hidden inside, but sadness, problems, and little, external things cover this spring of love in our lives. So, babies, we need prayer. Prayer removes all of the black curtains in our hearts. Our hearts will be opened by our real prayer and true devotion. We need true devotion, not show devotion. Pray to God with tears. Sit alone in your room. Wake up early in the morning and pray to God with tears. Pray from the bottom of your heart. Not from the lips-not just chanting mantras, saying prayers or singing songs. You must pray from the bottom of your heart!

Children, try to keep your hearts pure by always having positive thoughts and performing positive actions. Even in bad dreams, never think about any negativity, like jealousy or ego. Ego causes so many problems in innumerable births, so kill this ego! Pray to God to kill the ego, this big demon in the heart. We think "I," "me," "my" for everything. This selfishness, greed, and anger-these are not sweet. For so many years we have been praying to God, so why does this anger and impurity still reside in our hearts like so much pollution? Babies, give up all of the pain, all of the impurities to your "Mum." What work do I have in this world, except my babies' work? I am your servant-that is enough for me. I want to serve my children. There is so much pain and sadness; you are depressed by problems, sadness and distress. Prayer and meditation will burn all these impurities.

Whatever spiritual activity you may do, whether you sing, pray, or do silent meditation, every road leads you to the destination of absolute, supreme Consciousness. We need consciousness. We already have consciousness about holy things. But we need divine Consciousness. That divine Consciousness is everywhere, in everything, but our hearts are closed because of problems like sadness and illness.

Prayer burns all these impurities so that we have elevation and expansion in our lives, and we touch peace. We experience peace inside. Our hearts will be opened by our true devotion, one hundred percent devotion, one hundred percent faith in God. Not ninety-nine and three quarters percent, or even ninety-nine point nine percent. We need one hundred percent faith! Spiritual practice is a very slippery path. So, my dear children, have faith, more faith, more and more faith, discriminating faith. Have mental detachment. Love everyone as God. That is beautiful! If we love our blood relations and our friends, that is not amazing, but if we love everyone in the world as God, that is real spirituality.

So, my babies, no matter what negativity is happening in your lives, forget about it. Start a new life, a real spiritual life, a one hundred percent pure life. Cultivate humility. Where there is humility, there is no egoism at all. Where there is egoism, we can never expect righteousness, truth and wisdom in our hearts. So children, be always in divine wisdom. Be always in tranquility. Be always in pure devotion. Be always in selflessness. Be always in humility. Be always in oneness with God. This is spirituality.

Loving each and every one in the universe is real spirituality. It is really difficult in the beginning, but it is possible. Yes, it is possible! There are so many holy souls, they love this entire universe more than their physical selves. Divine Mother's unseen hands embrace this entire cosmos. Open your third eyes, babies. Open your hearts and see Mother Divine's beauty in each and every cell of the universe; this is spirituality. If you love your guru only, if you only sing bhajans to your guru, if you sing only about Amma, that is not amazing. Expand yourself, see your guru's divine beauty. He is not the physical existence. Guru is supreme Consciousness. Guru is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. Guru is benediction. Guru means "divisionless." Now, we have divisions: "This is good," "This is bad," "This is better than that." Maya makes these divisions.

Divinity is indivisible, pure Consciousness, the supreme Omkara. Everything, even planets, merges in that supreme Consciousness only. Divinity is beyond time, beyond the things of this world, beyond the limited mind. Mind deceives us with ego problems throughout innumerable births. So do not listen to the mind's words. Always listen to the message from God in your meditation. The difference between prayers and meditation is this: in prayers you cry and pray to God with your devotion. In silent meditation you get divine messages, no prayers, just absolute silence and messages. Little messages, like "Do this," "Stop this," "Go ahead." Follow the real message from divinity.

See Mother's divine beauty in oceans, in rivers, in mountains, in the Earth, in trees, in planets, in the flower kingdom, in the bird kingdom. Each and every cell of the universe sings Mother's divine glory. Open your heart, and see Her divine glory. Listen to Her divine voice everywhere. There is beautiful divine music singing continuously in our lives. That beautiful music is the inner sound of Omkara. Listen to that music.

Our devotion, our spiritual feelings, are not visible to anyone in the world. They are invisible; only God knows about all our real feelings of devotion. So children, have pure, pure, pure devotion! Have discriminating faith, one hundred percent faith. Surrender, surrender, surrender! Be always giving, giving, giving something to others. Serve, serve, serve! Love, love, love! Love everything, do not hate anyone. If you hate anyone, it reaches God. If you love everyone, that reaches Mother Divine. So, babies, love and be like divine givers to everyone.

There is a beautiful, endless spring of cosmic love in our hearts. Cultivate cosmic love in your hearts, not restricted love. We have love towards our friends and relations already, but that is a limited love. Because of our limited feelings of innocence and ignorance, today we love them and tomorrow we don't even talk to them! That is not sweet. If we elevate to the highest peak of purity, we will love everyone like our own souls, like divinity. This is great and beautiful. So children, all religions, all faiths in the world teach the same thing. Give your service, forget your limited, egoistic self. Remember always the supreme Self. Merge with the supreme Self, and be always in truth. Reach the entire universe.

If anyone loses truth in his life, he loses everything. His life becomes empty inside, and he is always crying, grieving for something. If we have truth in our lives, we have everything, self-confidence, will power, strong determination, and a pure heart. If you have a truthful nature, whatever you wish must be fulfilled. In this world, truth alone can stand without any support. That is the power of truth. So, my babies, be always in truth. Do not tell lies for little, little things. It is neither sweet nor good for a spiritual aspirant. Pray to God, "Give me purification. Burn all of the impurities inside!" Cultivate purity, humility and humanity, and try to understand and experience reality. This is very, very important.

Your life has a purpose. Try to understand this purpose. The purpose of your life is the realization of Truth, the supreme Self. Then you are everywhere in the universe. Your supreme Self is divine wisdom. Your supreme Self is righteousness. Your supreme Self is tranquility and benediction. Your supreme Self is indivisible. It has no bondage at all. Limited feelings like jealousy and selfishness are bondage at the lowest level. This selfishness is at the lowest level. Devotion elevates you to the highest peak of divine wisdom.

We need every spiritual activity, prayer, meditation, bhajans, all these are necessary. Let's say for bhajans we receive ten points. And for meditation we receive ten points. For true devotion we receive another ten. Then, with whatever we have, if we go and give our service to others without expecting anything in return, we might receive even more points. All of these numbers would then add up to one hundred percent, because all of these things are very important. We need pure, pure, pure devotion! Now we have devotion, but our devotion is mixed with jealousy, selfishness, and other limited feelings. There is still ego on one side and anger on the other. We are still grieving, crying for something. These impurities surround our heart. So we have devotion, but it is not pure. If you have a big bowl of milk, and if just one drop of lemon juice or a grain of salt were to drop in that milk, what would happen? The milk would be entirely spoiled. In the same way, our devotion is spoiled by limited feelings such as anger, greed and selfishness. You are not this body. You are the supreme Brahman, Soul, Omkara. Go beyond limited things, babies. Experience great awareness in the world.

Many people have inner beauty. Even if they commit billions of mistakes, there is no problem; Mother never criticizes Her babies or finds fault in Her children. She clears away all of those problems, She removes all of those curtains from Her babies' hearts because She loves Her babies. That is the nature of Mother Divine. So children, if you have committed limited, little, little mistakes, do not think about all those things. Give up all your problems, poisons, pains and misery to Mother Divine.

Start a new life, a pure life, a real spiritual life. In this world, our lives are very limited. This is a short play that lasts forty, fifty, seventy, or ninety years. Thirty or forty years after the play of life begins, we have very limited time left. At least try to utilize this limited time for inner purification.

Meditation, like any spiritual activity, is done only for the purpose of inner purification. If we chant mantras, pray, do homas, or fast, but still harbor anger, jealousy and lust inside, what is the use of our devotion? Over time, think about this. If there is any use for anger, okay, keep it. If there is no use for anger or all of these bad, limited things, send them away permanently from your heart. Let only dharma, truth, rule your entire life. Only truth must rule your entire life. Give truth the opportunity to rule your entire life.

Follow truth, be always in truth. Try to give whatever you have in your heart-your service, your love, your education, your music, your knowledge, whatever you have in your heart. Give one hundred percent. Have no second thoughts. Have only one thought. If anyone asks, "Amma, please give," the response is "Okay, take it." Love always gives. If we have second thoughts, and we say, "No," or "Not now," our love is limited. If we have love toward anyone in the world, we never say "No." This is the nature of love. So my dear children, my dear pure souls, you are embodiments of divinity. Why is there great crying? Why is there sadness in the heart? This is a cloud. Send this cloud permanently from your hearts with your divine prayer, your pure prayer.

Prayer and devotion are like an unseen fire. This fire burns each and every cell, each and every corner of your heart. Wherever there is any impurity hidden in your life, this real devotion burns all of these negativities, and you will have one hundred percent relaxation, peace of mind, equal vision, truthfulness, sincerity and purity. All of these divine attributes will bloom in your heart's garden. In this church in which we are now sitting, they sing a song about the garden in the heart every month. I love this song very much! I listen from there. (Amma lovingly laughs.) Really, I love this song. Yes.

We need love. We want to share our love. There is so much need in the universe because this yuga, this age, is a polluted age. In the golden years, people were very truthful, very sincere. They had a lot of humility. Now times have changed because of selfishness. We should never say this is due to ignorance; innocence is the proper word. Because of our innocence, we spoil our lives with our own hands. Children, you have knowlegdge. Give the opportunity to your Mum to serve you, babies, to remove all of the weeds in your inner garden. Amma expects her babies to be always in peace, always in divine tranquility, always in cosmic love. That is Amma's expectation.

A swan is always in water, but it is not soaked by the water; it just rests on top of it. Be like a divine swan; be in this world, but not of it. Elevate yourself, and love the entire universe as yourself. This is the highest peak of spirituality. My dear babies, come back to your Mother's sweet home. Yes. Come back to your Mother's sweet home, the thousand-petalled lotus in the sahasrara chakra, the divine flower. There are innumerable invisible flowers inside. Offer all of those flowers, bloom all of those flowers-the flower of compassion, the flower of kindness, the flower of inner beauty, the flower of equal vision, the flower of pure devotion. Use sweet words, not hard words. If our minds are impure, we use bad words, harsh words, towards others. If we have purity inside, kindness inside, we never say hard words to anyone. So speak only sweet words. Speak little, speak gently, speak softly. Speak truthfully and kindly. Always speak the truth only. That is very important. Pray for the welfare of others. There are so many children in orphanages-it is very sad. There are so many abused children all over the world. They are still crying in their sixtieth or seventieth year because of the sad memories. All of our capabilities are reduced because of these problems in life. You have so many capabilities, so babies, elevate! Elevate and forget all those things. Give up all those things to your Mum, and be peaceful.

Start your eternal journey. Merge with your eternal Mother. That is your destiny. Be on your path. Have your own belief. Amma never wants to change your religion or your path. She never expects you to do something like that. She has love and affection toward all the religions in the world. All these religions are paths only. There is only one destination. Amma's consciousness is only toward that destination. It is not on these paths. So whatever path you are on, dig your own well, not other wells. Dig only that well; one day you must find water in your well. So babies, have belief, increasing belief in your religion, in your faith, in your guru, in your mantra, and in your prayer. But elevate, expand, and reach the goal. Reach the truth, experience the truth. That is Amma's expectation, that is Amma's wish for her babies.
